Woodland Hills Church is a community-focused organization located in St. Paul, MN. I was tasked with creating branding for their MLK celebration.
Problem: There is a certain weight that comes with creating a design meant to honor and represent great men and women from history. Martin Luther King Jr., and those who followed his path, are a perfect example of this. In addition to the importance of the project, I was asked to create a design that could be repurposed each year going forward.
Solution: The approach here was to create a simple, geometric letter logo that would carry the name. This logo could be applied to a variety of photographs, contexts, etc. It also needed to feel timeless in order for the same mark to be applied to new themes each year.
